Step Right Up to the Summer’s Grand Slam Event
Every year the ALWS celebrates everyone involved in making all our visitors feel welcome during the games. Since 2014, the Saturday prior to the first day of games, the Festival has served as the kickoff to an amazing week of baseball. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Festival in 2024, expect it to be larger, louder and longer!
This year's festival will begin at 10am and run until 10pm. You'll notice an expanded footprint, allowing more activities, more vendors and additional entertainment. We'll be celebrating our local Land of Rhythm & Roots with free music on-stage beginning at 1 PM. As the sun sets, the excitement builds up to our headliner concert at 7 PM. Bring your chairs and join us for an unforgettable summer night on the streets of Uptown Shelby. It’s more than just a concert; it’s a celebration under the stars, where music and memories intertwine with summer's favorite sport, baseball.
Get ready to be whisked away into a world filled with nostalgia and fun at our reimagined American Legion World Series Festival! We’re bringing back the golden days with a nostalgic baseball theme that’s a perfect pitch for families, locals, visiting players and all the little sluggers out there. Meander through our shady uptown streets lined with vendors showcasing handmade marvels, from gleaming jewelry to trendy clothing. Let’s not forget the essential baseball eats – hot dogs, popcorn, and Cracker Jack treats are just the start! It’s a culinary home run for foodies and families alike!
Back on stage in Uptown Shelby this year will be the Little Miss ALWS pageant, beginning at 10am. Dust off your baseball caps, and join us for a day where every moment scores a home run! We can’t wait to welcome you to Cleveland County and our field of dreams – where the spirit of summer, baseball, and great music come alive. See you there!
